i know this may sound a little, er thick, but which way do you put a solar cover on? bubbles down, or up????

I wondered that too but opted for buble side up - this maximises surface tension thus preventing the cover from blowing away - don't know if i'm right or not though

Hi,
This is one of those questions which we always get in our shop, the theory behind a solar cover is that the surface of the cover is heated by the sun. This in turn warms each individual air pocket, which in turn transfers the heat into the water which surrounds each bubble. So if the cover is bubble side up, the bubbles are not in contact with the water to the same effect with regard to surface area, so the heat transfered is reduced.
So all solar covers must be placed bubbles down.
Hope this helps
All the best
Glan :D
