Generally most spas’ can be left 3-6 months with the water in; this is a long time for the same water to be used. My advice would be to replace the water every 2-3 months, this will allow you to reduce the amount of chemicals you need to dose into the spa, the water will need less coagulants etc.
The one thing to ensure is that if you are in a hard water area, you check the scale build up. Ph minus or stain/scale inhibitor will help to neutralise this.
If you’re worried about the cost of the water each time, remember that 1000 litres of tap water costs somewhere in the region of 70 pence (if only beer was this cheap!).
